Texas Sports

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA. Grew up watching the god-awful Pirates, and the legendary Pittsburgh Steelers.  In a city known for steel mills and peroggies, sports are considered a religion.  In the 18 years I lived there, I experienced the chaotic bliss of a Super Bowl, and Stanley Cup that is only fitting to a madhouse sports town like the "Burgh".  It all came to a climatic end when my family decided to move states and head south to the great state of Texas.

Interestingly enough I moved from one fanatical sports town, directly into another.  The Steelers, Penguins and Pirates have now been replaced by The Dallas Stars, Mavericks, Texas Rangers, and of course the almighty Dallas Cowboys.  They, have now become the new hometown heroes. Now of course, relatively speaking, these are NOT my hometown heroes, but nonetheless, hometown heroes.  So dare I say, as the wind blows, so do I, and unfortunately I now reside in Cowboy nation, the once hated and despised rival of my beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. I must though adapt, and adapt I shall.  I by no means have loyalty with any of the aforementioned  Texas teams, but I do share a common passion for hometown teams, generally speaking, and of course the wide world of sports as a whole.  Therefore, in the words of the the immortal Jay-Z..."I'm on the next one, on to the next one, somebody bring me back some money please!"

Texas Rangers: Signed Cliff Lee, AL West leaders, and 5 games behind the record best NY Yankees (yes i know) the Rangers are in position and poised to make the playoffs since...gosh who knows, the ice age?

Texas Longhorns: Ya Ya, if Colt McCoy hadn't injured his shoulder Texas would have won last years National Title. Truth of the matter though, is they DIDN'T!  So on the next one. Another top 10 ranking, top 5 recruiting class, and enough NFL talent to start another franchise. You do the math...

Dallas Mavericks: GOOD NEWS: Traded Josh Howard (finally) resigned Dirk, Kidd, Brendan and Caron. Brought in Tyson Chandler. BAD NEWS: The Lakers are still the Lakers, and the Heat now have Lebron, Bosh...and Wade. Not a shot in hell...

Dallas Cowboys:  Is this the year that the over-hyped Cowboys finally win a Super Bowl. Well, if learning from your mistakes really makes you stronger, Romo should be league MVP. Pair that with a stellar cast of WRs, RBs and a strong offensive, defensive line and secondary and you've got yourself a bona-fide contender...,granted Romo doesn't F@#! it up!

Dallas Stars:  I'm sorry I dont follow hockey, do you!?

Blessings,

-Mark
